- Training: Training is provided
to any interested person within the College of Life Sciences.
Training is conducted on each instrument separately and
certification is instrument specific.
Training is intended for users who will regularly
use the instruments. Training consists of an introductory class
providing an overview of the instrument, its operation and
capabilities. Further hands-on training is given on a one-on-one
basis. Certification to use the instrument without oversight
will be granted when the user has demonstrated an acceptable level of
proficiency.
Scheduling: Stop by or call x58005 to schedule time on the
instruments.
Data:
Data from the LCQ and GCQ are easily pasted into other applications,
e.g. Word, PowerPoint or Acrobat. All data derived from staff
analyses are backed up to CD only for your convenience. Users
are strongly encouraged to create their own backups. This
facility is not responsible for lost data! Users are solely
responsible for backing up data from their own analyses.
MS/MS database searching: Users may use SEQUEST
or
Mascot to search MS/MS data for peptide matches against a
database.
Publication: Please acknowledge the College of Life Sciences
Mass Spectrometry Facility in publication. Data from the LCQ or GCQ can be
provided as pdf or ppt figures. Contact us for details on instrument
methods, conditions, etc.
